If a Mod is in the Icebox they should not be able to still use their mod powers until they get out. Just an oversight I am sure.

Seriously, what is the point of an icebox if a mod can still moderate from there????

I find this odd as well. the only option that was not available to me while in the ice box was to ice someone. I could still lock, edit, delete...etc.

Adam obviously removed the 'ice' option for a Mod in the ice box, but did not remove any of the other options.

the point of the ice box is not to prevent mods from moderating. it's to prevent users from posting.

And isn't editing comments on the board a form of posting?

debbie --- 14 years ago -

IMO-A mod should not have any Mod privileges if they are in the ice box.

i agree. if they are stripped temporarily of their posting powers because they are out of control, how in god's name are they fit to moderate others? how can they moderate others properly when they can't even moderate themselves?????

If you are talking about KU there are at least 2 moderators that should not be in icebox.

Well, I have no idea why they are there. But I guess while in there they need to suck it up and stay off the board like they tell the other users who feel unfairly iced.

I'm just wondering because i'm new at this. what is the icebox? I know sounds totally dumb and I probably should not even ask but i'm just wondering. My guess if if someone does something against the rules they can't use their account for a certain time? That's my guess haha
