Adam - I was wondering about the mod removal parameters.

If a mod recommends another mod to be removed, and it gets voted down, does the mod who recommended it lose that feature or can it go on perpetually for days on end?

The Mod removal tool obviously stirs up copious amounts on controversy and trouble. If there was a tool in place to ensure that the Mod removal feature was, in fact, warranted (i.e. approved) then maybe it would not happen all the time.

For instance:

Mod A recommends removing Mod B, the vote fails and Mod B remains a Mod:

1. Mod A is automatically removed as a Mod.
2. Mod A's abiity to recommend the removal of Mod B is suspended for xx days.

or some combo/variation of the above.

I realize that we are to moderate ourselves, however if the issue is brought up in a vote and it fails, there should be something to limit the Mods from abusing the remove mod proposal.

I suppose the repercussions could be that the other Mods propose to remove Mod A, but then it's creating ill will within the Mod group.

Great question.

1. Abusing their mod power could be an answer.
2. I would actually prefer option 2. They should be limited in how many times they could propose the remove mod feature. If they put it to vote, and it doesn't work, get over it.
3. It MIGHT prevent the other Mods from proposing that Mods outright removal. Gonna guess that if the votes did not work out in favor of removing the Mod, then that Mod WOULD have the votes to remove the Mod that proposed the action.

Why should there by a limit? It could be possible that future poor actions/bad judgment by a mod would be grounds to keep the efforts at removal constant.

Oh and by the way if I am such a wonderful person why not agree with the majority of KU and give up your mods powers, it is quite obvious you as a mod is not wanted!!!!

Because TxDaddy is upset over an issue that was supposedly already taken care of through pm but yet he keeps bringing it up again and again. He cleared the issue with LTP but just cannot let it go. He seems to be in a pissy mood that LTP put him up to be removed, which she had every right to do as a mod, just as Txdaddy has every right to abuse his powers as he has been. Not to mention his stalkerish behavior towards another KU'er which sassy agreed was stalkerish when it was being discussed. I am sure now that she knows it was one of her own doing the stalking, she will recant her comments about 'Could be! Someone is honestly sick. ' and 'I would stay away from anyone capable of doing that'.

I think if a Mod puts Mods up for removal as a frivolous game then that Mod should be iced. I also think that putting Mods up for a vote to be removed should include a reason for it, just like a reason for being iced is required. I also think the vote should be open to the general forum not just the Mods.

As for the alphanumeric folks, I am merely doing exactly what you said you would when you became a moderator. I am following the rules and guidelines set on this forum. When I logged in my name came up this way. If Adam had wanted the persons real id that was associated with the email address, he would have done so. So, like you, I am following the rules and guidelines set forth by the administrator of THIS board. It's ok for you, so it must be OK for the rest of us correct?
