Previously, icing would automatically remove all the recent comments. Now mods have the option.

And what does this solve Adam? Nothing. You're making "improvements" which solve absolutely no issues.

adam (Wizard) --- 14 years ago -

Keep in mind that what might not be an issue in your particular view might be in others'.

Zionist NightOwl --- 14 years ago -

That is a great thing to make optional. It will simplify the process of deleting the comments of a troll whose sole existence was to be offensive, but allow the majority of comments to stand for the regular posters.

Mrs Wallace --- 14 years ago -

agreed, ZN! Excellent idea! :)

debbie --- 14 years ago -

I think the mods will need guidelines on when to delete comments. Only obvious trolls or really nasty comments should be deleted. People learn by seeing what is banned and also it keeps things more honest and above board when you can see the comments. Too much he said/she said otherwise.

Zionist NightOwl --- 14 years ago -

Why do you keep calling everyone a troll?

Uhmmm, given that I almost never do that, your sentence doesn't even make sense.

Mrs Wallace --- 14 years ago -

another great post, Debbie! completely agree. Speculation is never a good thing when it comes to these issues.

debbie --- 14 years ago -

Thanks, I think I like you, Mrs. Wallace! :D

Great points!! I think that is the policy Mods should be given to follow. Deleting of comments should be the exception rather than the rule.

So, if a mod is given the option to delete the posts....and they have iced someone unfairly or in a prejudicial manner--they will always delete the posts when it suits their purposes.

I have been saying since the day I was iced that it was a mistake. I was blamed for someone else's porn video....I NEVER POSTED THIS VIDEO. Yet, the mod who iced me, obviously made a mistake. Because my posts were deleted, I can't defend myself.

There is a hole in the system Adam, and it needs to be fixed. I have been imploring you over the last few days to take a look at my situation, and yet I am STILL in the ice box--for something I didn't do.

Usually the people that are the most frustrated with an unfair icing are the people that rarely commit infractions, at least that has been my experience. The others don't care or simply create another ID. So, I hear your inner rage at feeling falsely accused.

I think Sparkes gave you some good advice. At this point, you just want to vent, and I hear ya.

When you get out make your case on the board. Make your point with just the facts and make sure it isn't offensive.

Of course it won't change what happened to you, but the vent will make you feel better. Hopefully, the Mod that iced you will be able to offer up a reason, whether you accept it or not. Or even possibly admit it was a mistake and apologize.

But at a certain point, you need to let it go. Keep all things in perspective, my friend. You know who you are and you are not defined by a message board. Sometimes, we all need reminders of the obvious.

Suk it up you, posted animated porn stop baby cryin and admit it

VitaminHDeficiency --- 14 years ago -

Can you post the video you posted so we can see what you mean? I don't think its right to ice some one when they didn't do nothing wrong.

absolutely agree.

Fix the mod issue first.

Agree. If they delete the comments to me that shows that they iced someone unfairly. Why not just leave the comments that caused the person to get iced so we can see what they said.

Agreed. Completely useless. It takes someone who has been iced all of about a minute to sign up for another disposable email address to be used for verification and then sign up here with a new name.

This forum software is so limited in what it can do. There are so many forum packages on the market, some that are free, that have far more control than this one.

Just one example of a free package is Snitz. I am not recommending Snitz, but I am pointing out that just about anything would be better than this horrific forum software.

I cannot even remember seeing a forum within the past decade that is nothing more than a linear forum. One post pushes another post down the list and so on. No organization. No search engine that is worth a damn. No way to properly moderate.

There must be some reason that this software is still being used. Maybe because the admins are afraid to lose the existing posts to switch?

Whatever the reason, nobody is doing any good by using this forum software.

I was more than happy with the layout of this forum, thanks. You ought not complain since it makes it so easy for you to troll every other underground to your heart's content. You're a crappy troll, by the way. A real troll doesn't have to enlist the assistance of all the morons from his own boring site to come help him stir up the masses. Go get a job and stfu.

virgin --- 14 years ago -

go vengeance its your birthday.
